It was a perfect weekend getaway for a special birthday celebration! The cabin was gorgeous and well appointed, with beautiful furnishings for a comfortable and cozy stay! The views of Grandfather Mountain are stunning! Centrally located to restaurants and shops in Blowing Rock and Boone. DJ was quick to respond to our questions, and even checked in with us to make sure we were enjoying our stay. We started our trip a day earlier than originally planned and I’m so glad we got to spend one additional day at The Retreat! We are already looking at dates to plan another stay!

We arrived much later than we had anticipated and Carl and his son were there to greet us. Carl showed us around the house and explained how to use the lights and appliances. He also had the refrigerator stocked with breakfast cereals, milk, bread, coffee, etc… Our dogs loved roaming the outdoors.

Beautiful home. Very nice neighborhood. Convenient to restaurants, shopping. Great hosts! Looking forward to coming back again!

We had an amazing stay and thoroughly enjoyed the front yard for all day sledding! The house was spacious - perfect for our four families! Most importantly, the hosts were super friendly and responsive to any questions we had! We will definitely be back to enjoy the river in the summer!!

Everything was as advertised. Peaceful area with great access to all the city has to offer. Great host, easy access into and out of the property. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Johnson City, TN.

Unfortunately, we were booked the weekend of Hurricane Helene so did not get to go. Karen was very good with communication as we were trying to gauge whether we were going to be able to go. We lost contact with Karen the day of the storm and assume she has no power or cell service. We are hoping and praying she is ok and that the house is ok. We will definitely plan on booking there again as soon as everything is clear!

Amy’s place was just what we were hoping it would be for a place to stay during a two day ski trip to Beech Mountain. Listing was just as described. Amy very friendly and helpful.

Great place, great hosts. easy to find, everything is great, the owner left detailed instructions, everything is clear. in the yard there is a great place for a fire, grill, rest area, everything is organized. a wonderful place with a view. today it snowed and it reminded us of our home in Russia.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming country Airbnb! It was the perfect blend of tranquility and convenience, being just a short drive from the city. The place was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend this place!

Ms Cheryl is as friendly as they come she made us feel like we were home she greeted us when we got there and showed us around everything was was perfect Boonies restaurant is right next door at Davis marina and that’s all you need we will definitely plan another trip for stripers again thank you and take care

Our stay at Tara's place was exactly as expected. The instructions to find the condo were exactly as described and the place was clean, quiet and comfortable! Would definitely stay again!

We selected this condo over others because of the excellent reviews. We were equally impressed. The condo was very comfortable, clean, and well equipped with everything you need. Nicole is an experienced host who has thought of everything. She communicated well to make sure our stay was an excellent one. We were fortunate that it snowed during our stay. Watching the weather move across the views was fabulous. We also enjoyed watching several deer grazing by the pond. We hope to return and stay longer next trip.

We really enjoyed our stay at this comfortable and clean condo! Ronnie's place provided everything we needed for a fun weekend trip to Hawksnest Tubing and for a college visit to App State. On the last morning, I saw a trail on the far end of the parking lot? This would have been good to know when I was craving some nature time before the rest of the family woke up. Overall, a great spot, a garet value and we'd love to return!

Place was great for a weekend getaway with kids, they loved the sledding hill which was right outside the condo few mins walking distance. Cozy and quaint!

Dean was very quick to respond and our stay was wonderful. The condo was exactly as pictured and described. It was very spacious, neat, clean, and comfortable. We will definitely be making arrangements to stay here again. Great experience! Eric

Though it’s close to the main road, you need four-wheel drive in winter to get to this condo. We got stuck and could not reach the condo- ended up driving to the next town for snow chains as that was the only way to get there. It’s a nice place and very close to Beech Mountain but important to be aware of accessibility in winter.

We stayed for a long weekend to ski at Sugar Mountain and absolutely loved Fabby's place. This is NOT a 5-star place, rather a perfect 10! This was the cleanest airbandb we've ever stayed at, and it was also a perfect setting/decor for the area - rustic condo. King-size bed was so comfortable. Just keep in mind, you do have to be in shape to walk down steps and then a slight hilly incline to get to the ski slopes - it takes about 10 mins. (slow-go in ski boots), but it was no issue for us. Fabby left us a bottle of wine, and the amenities were just about everything we ever need - straws, sugar, tea, coffee, biscotti, ice cubes in the freezer, water in the frig - then the bathroom had hand soap and a bar of Dove, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Pocket size tissues, and 1st aid kit. Just show up, kick your feet up, and relax! The view of the mountains were breathtaking. If we return this summer to hike, this will be our 1st choice!
