Helen’s home is truly a hidden gem. We needed somewhere to stay close to Arthur’s Pass, and we are so lucky to have found this place. Our bedroom (and basically any other living area in her home) had an absolutely gorgeous view of the valley and the mountains. While we were there, another couple also was staying at Helen’s home in another bedroom. We all had dinner together that night and shared lots of fun stories. Helen was a great cook! She also made us a delicious breakfast the following morning and was kind enough to work around our early-morning schedule. Helen was not only amazing host, but also a very kind and gracious person. We felt so welcomed into her home almost immediately. I really loved talking to her about her outdoor adventures. She was extremely helpful and gave us suggestions on things to check out at Arthur’s Pass. Thank you so much, Helen, for your amazing hospitality! I wholeheartedly recommend Helen’s place!

We absolutely loved our stay at Waikonini Homestead! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with tea and cake, setting the tone for a truly delightful experience. We stayed one night in ‘Owen’s Room’, and as no other guests were booked during our visit, the homestead felt wonderfully tranquil. The warm, cozy bed made for an incredibly comfortable night, and the meals were a perfect finish to the night. Dinner (prebooked) featured a fish pie, followed by a mince tart with homemade custard—comfort food at its very finest. Mary, our host, truly made the experience unforgettable. Her warm hospitality and engaging conversations about travel, dogs, and life made us feel completely at home. And her delightful Corgis, Peppi and Anne—oh, they were absolutely adorable! The homestead itself is a treasure—an elegant old home surrounded by stunning grounds that invite you to relax and explore. The perfect blend of timeless charm and modern comfort.

I really enjoyed staying with Kirsty and John, their house is beautiful and spacious and with a very interesting history. My room was very comfortable and quiet with great views over the garden and fields. The bathroom was big and very clean with a lovely shower. There are great local walks and views of Fox Glacier. Kirsty and John went out ot their way to help me enjoy my stay. thank you

This was one of our favorite Airbnb experiences in many years of travels. It is set in a beautiful and quiet valley with stunning views of the mountains. We stayed in the Wilkin room which has French doors that allow you to observe the beautiful landscape from your bed. Pete and Janine are great hosts and made us feel right at home. The food they served was exceptional.

We had a wonderful stay at michael and jackie's home. They made us feel right at home and we especially enjoyed the terrace and the fabulous views. breakfasts were yummy and filling with lots of goodies. Beds were comfy and the bathroom was huge. It was a great stay! Highly recommended.

Wir können die Unterkunft voll und ganz empfehlen. Rob hat uns gegen eine angemessene Gebühr vom Flughafen abgeholt und wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen. Wir haben uns sofort wie zu Hause gefühlt. Alles war super sauber und gemütlich. Zum Frühstück fehlte es an nichts. Wenn wir nochmal nach Christchurch reisen, kommen wir auf jeden Fall wieder zu Karen. Herzlichen Dank für eure Gastfreundschaft.

This space is truly unique and if you love animals like myself you will appreciate it even more. Really genuine hosts who make you feel very welcome and at all. All the little touches make it splendid. Close to the gorgeous town of Fairlie that has an amazing bakehouse. I thoroughly recommend staying here whilst travelling the South Island.

Brilliant hosts fantastic place. Briar and Shaun are extremely welcoming and make you feel right at home in their beautiful house. They provide great advice and suggestions on what to do based on your preferences both locally and further afield. We had really great conversations and Briar makes really good cakes! As a guest you have access to the lounge area so can relax and make yourself at home. Definitely happy to recommend

Sue and John are warm, welcoming, friendly, bright people. Location, accommodations and setting are top drawer, with great attention to creature comforts. Being able to do laundry a bonus. Breakfast tasty and conversation interesting and open. Kiwi hospitality at its finest!

Lovely place in a perfect location. Had a great breakfast while chatting with some fellow travellers. Easy walk to the botanic gardens, museums and shops, yet the B&B feels tucked away and cozy.

We had a wonderful stay at Julie and Jonathan’s! Their B&B is only a 5 minute drive from town and the glacier walks. They had tons of great suggestions for local ideas as well as hikes along the way to Queenstown( where we were heading). We had a beautiful view of the mountains and glacier from the room too! We would definitely stay again!

Just when I thought our Airbnb experiences could not be beaten there was Colleen and Trevor. They made us feel like family whilst still retaining discreet sensitivity to our privacy. Nothing was too much effort. Home baked goodies too! Beautiful Lilly the dog has been well trained to offer you as much or as little attention as you would like. We could not rate this stay more highly and hope to meet up with Colleen and Trevor again one day.

Beautiful step back in time , surrounded by exquisite furnishings and decor . Nostalgia at its best - if you adore historic venues I urge you to check this place out , you will love it .

This is a unique and bona fide Boutique BnB! You’ll want to spend some time just exploring the antiquity and treasures in Dalkeith BnB, where you’ll find all kinds of treasures! The bed and linens are heavenly, along with the ensuite bathroom, the breakfasts were glorious and the care & attention Julie the host, extends is brilliant! Great location, everything walkable, Kaiapoi Museum is phenomenal, along with all amenities nearby. I loved staying here, the property’s gardens are glorious and 4 nights went by so fast! Very well priced and best BnB I have experienced. Kaiapoi is a little gem of a town not to be missed!

It felt like coming home! Colleen (Trevor was out tramping at Cook Mountain) welcomed me warmly and had great suggestions what I could do. This B&B is definitely one of the best, ever, and I would return any time! On the morning when I left I could actually see Cook Mountain from my bedroom! Did not make it easier to leave!

Colleen was very helpful and a mine of information for our flying visit. We will have to come back to do it justice. Everything was very comfortable and super clean.

I dropped my parents for a couple of night while I was away and slept one night there on my way back. Such a lovely experience, my parents doesn’t speak English very well but Judith has been awesome with them, they loved it !! Highly recommended !
