Perfect place if you want a peaceful place to stay at. Sandakphu peak is 1 day trek (~14 kms) away from this place. Ideal if you want to go to Sandakphu from an offbeat route. The hosts are very helpful. The food provided at the stay was delicious.

It's real treasure to stay here and experience the serenity of this place. Thanks to sachin , kachyo and Pemit for having me and to have this deep and beautiful experience. From amazing mountains around, hot water spring to authentic stay, hospitality here, organic food grown in farm around and intense moment at Gompa, everything is amazing and wonderful. Couldn't stop myself from staying for another 2 nights.

I had a lovely stay at Sangdup's countryside homestay in the hills of Upper Dzongu. There are walkable trails and the surrounding is quite nice and peaceful. The altitude of the place is lower than that of Gangtok, so it's not as cold and high-altitude-exotic/stunning as some of the other North Sikkim tourist destinations, but I enjoyed the vibe of being in nature. Sangdup and his family are quite helpful and try to create a good experience for you. It's worth noting though that in order to reach the homestay you have to climb some 130 stairs. Everytime you need to go down for a car ride or for a hike you have to climb stairs.

The place is very nice with beautiful view. We thought it would be a very cold place but apparently not. Our 9 months old boy enjoyed the place a lot, seeing greens and having fresh air on morning walk, swam in the river with cool water, etc. The host, Anuj and Deepika (Pabitra's family), were very helpful and responsive to our concerns and their daughter was very fun when play with our baby, felt like family.

Nestled in the tranquil countryside, Palighar Farm Stay offers a rejuvenating retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a sense of tranquility that enveloped the entire property. The farm's rustic charm adds to its allure, with quaint cottages surrounded by lush greenery and sprawling fields. One of the highlights of our stay was the delectable Nepali cuisine served at the farm. Every meal was a culinary delight, showcasing fresh ingredients sourced from the surrounding area. The authentic flavors and hearty portions left me craving for more. However, it was not just the food that left a lasting impression; the staff's attentiveness and friendliness truly enhanced the overall experience. Whether it was taking us to the local market or simply engaging in casual conversation, their genuine hospitality made us feel right at home.

We stayed three nights at Pali Ghar and had a really wonderful time. The rooms are very spacious and peaceful. The property is very beautiful with great views and some lovely walks to nearby temples. Kabir and Ahana are really kind hosts, they gave us lots of good tips and recommendations. Big shout out to Sanjay too, the quality of the cooking is very high, every meal was a treat and we even got to make Momo with him and Ahana. Everyone was very generous with their time and knowledge and we had a really enjoyable and relaxing stay. Highly recommend! Thank you!

Kalimpong Village Retreat, tucked in Kalimpong's serene Iche village, is a hidden haven run by the warm and attentive Siddharth and Suprina. The retreat, reached by a gentle walk past paddy fields, is surrounded by colorful marigolds, azaleas, and a bountiful garden of bananas, avocados, turmeric, and more. Meals here are authentic and flavorful, made with locally sourced ingredients, from Sel Roti to tree tomato chutney—Nepali cuisine at its finest. Siddharth and Suprina's care, alongside their hardworking neighbor, Anita (“Bhauju”), makes every moment feel like home. Adding charm is Brownie, their lovable dog, who becomes an instant friend. Siddharth’s close-knit community ties ensure all needs are met, from evening transport to local recommendations, despite the secluded setting. For anyone seeking an escape from city life, Kalimpong Village Retreat offers a soulful, peaceful stay with heartfelt hospitality. I left rejuvenated, grateful, and eager to return to this special place.

Sristi's mud house is straight out of a fairy tale - magical , mystical and dreamy. Highly recommend it to someone looking to live a slow life in hinterlands. The house is built with a lot of care and thought. The artefacts of bamboo and wood give it an earthy charm. One can spend hours here with nature - the surrounding forest sounds , clear night sky and village / farm walks rekindled our spirits. Sristi herself and her family are very warm and welcoming. The food they cook on a wood fired cookstove is simple and delicious. Thanks for everything Sristi , including the small picnic at the river. PS - don't forget to ask for Shimpu Guras wine prepared from Rhododendron!

NorbuGakyil is more than just a homestay — it’s a home away from home. I’ve stayed at many places, but this one truly hits different. From the moment we arrived, Tashi Uncle and his wonderful family welcomed us with such warmth that we never once felt like guests. Cherri, the in-house master chef, treated us to amazing breakfasts every morning — simple yet soul-satisfying meals that gave us the perfect start to our days. Rigyal was incredibly kind, fun, and full of life — he instantly felt like a younger brother we’ve known for years. Aunty ji brought in her signature wit and sarcasm, always ready with a story that left us smiling. What made it even more special were their two adorable and friendly dogs who never failed to brighten our mood. The vibe of NorbuGakyil is peaceful, homely, and filled with genuine care. It’s rare to find a place where every member of the host family leaves such a lasting impression. If you're planning a trip to Darjeeling, I highly recommend this Place.

This place was a beautiful blend of traditional and modern aspects. You get to stay in a beautiful countryside in traditional Sikkimese tribal cottages, go hiking in the nearby village, but also unwind in a restobar with great food and live music. The host, the staff and even the other guests made us feel so warm and welcome. We strongly recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience a blissful rural life.

If there ever was a paradise lost, never fret because you'll find it again here. A home away from home nestled amidst pristine pine and fern canopy hugged by the mountains - Rabten and his warm family made every bit of our stay in kalimpong a moment to cherish. We were properly spoiled with cooked food (sumptuous), spacious beds and copious rooms, a view to behold, misty mountain weather that transported us to a fantasy novel, a brilliant hall room to congregate and singalong. Rabten personally ensured we had all the right contacts and logistics sorted out for our sight seeing and transport. Rabten's mum was extremely generous to us, and kind. His crew were engaging and always available to help and assist. I would strongly recommend the homestay, and we definitely made friends here whom we want to visit again, soon!

Irecently had the pleasure of staying at Sanjay's place in Kalimpong, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The property is not only beautifully maintained but also offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Sanjay was an exceptional host—warm, welcoming, and always available to assist with any queries or needs.

Yangsum farms highly recommended. Great locales,ethnic food, above all great host. It's worth every penny u spend. Simple,straightforward yet satisfying.Special note of thanks to manisha, priyanka for the culinary and forest journeys... you guys rock.Lastly Mr.Thendup, keep up the great job you are awesome..
