We stayed at Anne’s lovely cottage for three nights and enjoyed every minute of it . The beds are super comfy so we slept like a dream. The location is beautiful. Nicely nestled into the hill over looking the bay and only a short stroll to the beach and a short drive to the other beautiful bays in the area. The cottage has an everything you need and is spotlessly clean. I haven’t relaxed so much in ages. I think the giant bed with the gorgeous view has a lot to do with it . Anne is super lovely too. Perfect for us in every way.

Kay's place was perfect for a couple of night's getaway. She was a very quick communicator and everything was as expected. She kindly left us freshly baked bread, as well as honey and apples from her property. The beds were very comfy and the whole place was well stocked and much more spacious than we expected. Kay's husband James sorted the pizza over for us and we cooked homemade pizzas. The property is private and secluded but just up a driveway from the road. Would highly recommend both the hosts and the property. Would happily stay again or suggest it to friends and family.

"We had the pleasure of staying at Jessica's house for the second time, and it was just as wonderful as our first visit! The property is clean, beautifully maintained, and perfectly equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Dave's house was perfect in every way as accommodation for our group of eight. The only downside was that the water pressure in the shower was weak, which made showering a bit inconvenient.

A great house for a family stay. Use of paddle boards and kayaks was good to have. Easy launch of our inflatable boat from the beach when the tide is in. Comfy beds and great views from the deck.

Blown away by location and beautifully presented home, complete with all the bells and whisltes. Loved that we had access to plenty of beach toys, games and books. Did not need a thing. Felt right at home after travelling 800kms. Perfect size for a big whanau who love the beach. The sunrises and sunsets are stunning.

Lovely place to stay. Very well equipped. Great for family group of 3 generations. Great views from all rooms and always something happening on estuary. Pool table, spa , pizza oven and kayaks provided great variety of options. Highly recommend

We very much enjoyed our time at Karen and Grants place. We were 2 adults and 3 kids and had plenty of space, and even quite some toys and books available. The area around the bay is wonderful and offers a lot of nice walks and beaches. It is definitly a space worth on our list of go-there-again places!

Sally and Kev are friendly hosts with a gorgeous spot right by the water. Plenty of room for our family of four, two bedrooms inside the cottage and a well appointed sleep-out. Amenities to meet all needs when staying away from home. Would fully recommend!

Lovely family home with all that the description and photos promise and much more! A once in a lifetime location. We stayed here for the last days of our NZ trip and really appreciated relaxing and exploring the area and fabulous beaches north and south. A big thank you Carol!

The bach was lovely, real kiwi bach also Toni was amazing to deal with and left clear instructions on how to get to the bach as well as checking ourselves in Had everything you possibly would need for a trip away I absolutely loved the place and such an awesome area! The beach would be perfect for kids or swimmers who aren't to confident as the waves aren't strong at all but also have the option of a short walk to the end of the beach to a big shallow area with very little to no waves I really recommend this little bach, I fell in love and definitely would stay again!!

This place is a perfect getaway. It has everything you need. Full kitchen, grill, king size bed. The place is very comfortable. You can take kayaks and paddle around or go to the great remote beach.

Kathryn’s place was amazing! We loved our stay. I couldn’t believe how well stocked it was. Everything we needed was there. It was extremely comfortable. The hospitality was so welcoming and we felt right at home. The view and the serenity take the cake though. Not often you get ocean, mountains, pastures, cows etc all at one place. Definitely recommend.

Chris gave us a great welcome with a bottle of wine on arrival. She was very accommodating and let our kids feed the alpacas which was a great experience for them. Tidy house, very short drive to 2 great beaches.

Amazing little kiwi back in a private Rocky bay. Awesome for quality family time or a group of friends. Will definitely be staying here again!

We had a great time at Jane and Ians place - My daughter and I went kyaking and fishing right out front. Ian and Jane were both really helpful and the place is nice and clean and had everything we needed would highly reccomend we loved it. Hart

We loved every minute of our stay at Nuku Cabin. Diane was so welcoming and made us feel totally at home. I loved all of the thoughtful detail she has gone to make our dog feel at home also, with supplying a doggy bowl, blanket and bed. The house was absolutely pristine and had everything we could possibly want. My family will definitely be back again.

Really enjoyed our stay at Clive’s place. He was a great host with lots of good recommendations. Pataua south is a beautiful location and we hope to be back. Cabin was just what we needed and very tidy. Perfect spot for a dog and the beach is only 10m outside of your own private gate!

Such an incredibly beautiful and private spot right by the water, with breathtaking views from sunrise to sunset. The Bird Box is also perfectly formed, thoughtfully kitted out with every amenity - it’s absolutely gorgeous inside and out. We feel so very lucky we got to stay here, have a hot cuppa on the deck as the day dawns or after a wonderful day of adventure in around the area - there’s so much to explore. Maxine’s a great host too and made us feel so welcome ❤️ we absolutely loved our stay!

Sean and Becs are outstanding hosts, and the cabin (particularly it's location) exceeded our expectations. We are walking Te Araroa and stopped here for a rest day- so had no vehicle. Sean was more than happy to take us to the shops (5km away) when they were heading that way and dropped us back to the trail when we left. They offered us veges from the garden, helpful advice and were all 'round great hosts and really nice people. The location is amazing and not mentioned much in the listing- the cabin looks out over a grapevines and a sloping lawn to the harbour. It's peaceful and relaxing, and the shower (in a small separate cabin ) is excellent. We didn't use the sauna but it is located right on the waters edge. Highly recommended!
