Great place and Pataua is magic. Graham's place is terrific and kept meticulously. It was peaceful and well appointed. Very functional and well supplied kitchen and great grill on the lovely deck. We were only able to stay a couple nights but this was a great spot to see Pataua from.

Our stay was perfect! The facilities at the accommodation were excellent and I 100% recommended Mark & Barbara’s place. The nearby beach is wonderful and we enjoyed 4 nights there at the end of our holiday. We are looking forward to going back!

A special tranquil gem with lakeside access! A very private and quiet place to ‘just relax’ and recharge. I had a fantastic nights sleep and sat outside in the morning sun enjoying my breakfast. Chloe the Lab popped by to make sure I was all settled in (beautiful). The place is very well set up, well equipped and so very private and relaxing. Thank you Christa & Hank. We loved staying here. The Airbnb was immaculate. Absolutely beautiful restful and peaceful place. We loved walking by the river and the stars at night were amazing with no streetlights nearby. I went a watched stars sitting on the lawn for a while one night. The garden was beautiful. Dave and Maggie obviously love the garden as it really is lovely. The space had everything we needed. Full kitchen, living room, bathroom and laundry facilities. The bed was really comfortable and we slept really well. Thanks so much. We hope to come back again.

Ann was a great host. Communication was great and Ann is very friendly. The accommodation was well presented, nice and clean. Wonderful location for adventure. I will recommend Ann’s place to anyone wishing to visit this area.

Jeannine and Allan were so friendly and welcoming. Upon arrival it felt like you were welcomed into their home. The room was completely separate, bed was large and comfy, shower hot and kitchenette included extra touches we didn't expect like cereal and milk. Thank you for a lovely stay!

We loved our couple of days at Pataua North with Glenda and Jim - they're right on site so met us on arrival, showed us round and Jim baked us delicious ginger crunch as well! The beach is just there and having a choice of body surfing in the waves or gliding in the estuary with the stingray a few meters away was perfect. The bach was so clean with very comfortable beds and everything we needed. Perfect for a weekend catching up with our very good English friends - lots of eating, drinking, laughing and playing games. Thanks Glenda and Jim - we loved our time at Linga Longa!

Andrea and Mike were very kind and responsive. The couple run the place rather efficiently and respond to the customers' requests very quickly. We found that the ensuite bathroom was a little smelly and the hosts were trying all their means to eliminate the odour for us and even offered to switch to another available suite for us - surely they care for their customers. Thank you Andrea and Mike, we had a great time at the kohinui cottage! Kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the hot tub, amazing place to be!

This is one of the best airbnbs I’ve stayed at. Situated on the coast of some of New Zealand’s best beaches, the property has easy walking access to a small private beach or enjoy Matapouri which is only a very short drive away. The property has every thoughtful amenity you may need which was so helpful if you want to bbq and eat at home. It’s fitted out to a super high standard with comfortable beds, linen and a great shower. It’s immaculately clean, nestled in stunning surroundings. Our host Angela continuously went above and beyond to offer the most outstanding service including fresh tomatoes from the garden and baked birthday muffins for my friend who was celebrating. If that wasn’t enough Angela offers massage therapy from her home which was reasonably priced and out of this world. A truly relaxing place, gorgeous quality and phenomenal host, I hope I can return to enjoy again!

Loved it so much much we have already booked our next stay. Beautiful views and farms surrounding it, so it’s peaceful and private. Short trip to town and cafes.

My stay was fabulous. The apartment was roomy, clean and the place had all the amenities to include a washing machine. The walk down to the beach at the end of the day was a most welcome way to relax after a busy day at work. Great communication and privacy. I will be back. It's a wonderful stay.

We really enjoyed our stay in this airbnb. Ot was really nice and modern, it had everything we needed, a nice bed and a STUNNING view. Would definitely stay again!

My friend and I had a wonderful time staying at Cindy and Schalk’s place. The place was beautiful and Cindy and Schalk were very friendly and helpful.

It was a majestic view to wake up to and a beautiful quality space to be in for the couple of days I was there. It was great to meet Leah and Paul but also felt very private which I liked. I brought my dog and after the normal enthusiastic doggie meet & greet with Merc & Walter, she was perfectly happy. Sitting on the deck with a coffee in the sun looking out to the sea was something else. I drove up late but it would have been much more enjoyable while it was still light. Absolutely recommend and will be back.

Fantastic spot with fantastic hosts, very nice stay

We had a large extended family, who all felt at home in the spacious building with an amazing history. Minutes away from amenities and historical sites. The old building was warm and homely. The communication cable was severed in the region, this didn't impact our check in and everything ran smoothly. We had constant hot water which never ran out even with our large ground. Kids spread out either upstairs or around the table, drawing, laughing and enjoying each other's company. We would not get this in a small hotel or motel. The kitchen facilities in both wings were the right size and equipment worked well. The dining space was perfect as there was enough room for cooking and eating. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Whare Tapu.. Thank you to our hosts for helping us create a memorable family holiday and to learn about our family history. Cheers!!!

Grant and Lily’s Airbnb was an incredible stay! The views were absolutely breathtaking, making it the perfect spot to relax and unwind. The location was ideal—close enough to explore the area easily but still peaceful and private. One of the highlights was the BBQ setup; it was well-equipped and made for some good meals with a stunning backdrop. Grant and Lily were also excellent hosts, responsive and welcoming. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a scenic and relaxing getaway!

Pataua is Whangarei heads best kept secret. Val and Max are great hosts and the accomodation and hosting was in the top 5 of all the ABnB’s we’ve stayed.

Lovely place and the views are as good as they look. Hosts were great and made you feel welcome but didn’t hover. Would 100% go back

Lovely stay at Marg and Jan's, we were just there for the night but has everything you need for a longer stay too. A stunning view , close to the local tavern and a perfect place to stay if you are visiting whangarei heads.

I took my wife for our wedding anniversary, and I can honestly say this was one of the best air bnbs we have ever stayed. The place is amazing, with a resort feel to it. But Jodie really made the stay. it really did feel like a home away from home. We did some yoga which I have not done before, and it was truly wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very welcome. little touches really made it a memorable weekend. Thank you so much Jodie :-)
