Amazing property with absolutely stunning views. We loved the quirkiness of the multiple levels and that every aspect of the house maximised the light and countryside scenery all around. Our working cocker spaniel loved the garden and we personally found it adequately secure for a dog who isn’t an escape artist. He was content to wonder the grounds and sniff about. Troutbeck is lovely and peaceful - away from the hustle and bustle of Windermere and Ambleside with two lovely pubs in walking distance and a cafe too. There were lovely walks from the door and a short drive takes you to all the main Lakes attractions. It’s single track roads to the property for around 2 to 3 miles so you need to take it slow and careful. We had beautiful weather for March - warm and sunny during the day and cool on a night - so we made good use of the wood burner on an evening and were so sad to be leaving.

What a truly amazing place to visit, and a lovely place to stay. I would highly recommend it for a quiet getaway, truly stunning views and beautiful. Perfect if you want to switch off. Loved every minute and we will definitely be back.

A beautiful place to call base whilst exploring the south west of the lakes. The Airbnb had everything you could need and was beautifully presented. There are local walks on your doorstep and a great local pub for evening meals. A short trip south to the coast or north to Coniston, the perfect place for a weekend of exploring.

The Duddon Nest is a perfect countryside getaway. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed and more and was surrounded by natural beauty. Sabeen and Richard were great hosts too, really helpful and responsive and took extra care to make our stay really special.

Absolutely fantastic host. We couldn’t recommend this stay anymore and can’t wait to return. The farm is in a brilliant location and easily accessible for trips to the Lake District. The tractor house has everything you need and the family are so welcoming and kind.

5***** all the way. A great experience, Sally has prepared a cute comfortable home-from-home perfect for a Lakes holiday. Take heed of Sally's warning (I didn't) that there is NO G3/G4/G5 mobile reception and ensure that you've printed or screen grabbed Sally's excellent instructions. Being dependant on our phones for such things, we arrived, then had to drive back towards Ulverston to look up the code. Totally my own fault because I had been told! The Stable is a perfect one-bed for a couple with EVERY amenity provided, including the fresh milk in the fridge for the important cuppa on arrival. We had 6 nights comfy stay, 5 days exploring the Southern Lakes area. Cannot recommend it more highly, a walkable pub would be nice, but hey ho! that would be heaven on earth. Thank you sally for your attention to so much detail.

What a privilege to stay in such a unique place. The train was such a special experience, and my partner and I found that we were so excited to return to the train every evening. The photos on the listing really are exactly what you stay in, with a beautiful patio and view of a river. The modern kitchen and bathroom were a huge plus, in addition to a super comfy bed! As a Lake District newbie, I thought originally we would want to stay near the bigger towns. I was originally hesitant to book the Ullock train given the location, but boy, I was glad I did. The 10 min drive to Cockermouth was super convenient, and it wound up being so much more peaceful and unique than the more popular areas like Windermere. If you are considering this Airbnb, just do it!
