We loved our stay at the poolhouse! Check in was easy and Tom and his colleagues were always fast to respond if we had questions. There are some restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and the house is perfectly located near the water. We traveled with two small children and would without hesitation stay at the poolhouse again:)

Unterkunft, Lage (der AUSBLICK!!!!), Architektur, Einrichtung und Ausstattung (Küche, Grill, Waschmaschine, Pool, Bäder...) sind absolut fantastisch. Die Anfahrt ist spektakulär. Warren hat uns sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend empfangen. Leider konnten wir die tolle Unterkunft nur 3 Tage genießen. Man kann sich keine bessere Unterkunft für Regenwetter vorstellen (und bestimmt auch für Sonnenschein ;-))

We spent 4 nights as a family of 4. The property is exquisite and has all the luxury amenities. The views are breathtaking! The house is massive but feels cosy and homely. The hosts are friendly, helpful and accommodating. I’ve now found my new favourite place to stay in Knysna!

We had an incredible few days at the house in Knysna! It was so comfortable and inviting that we never wanted to leave. We enjoyed swimming, braaiing and relaxing while watching movies together. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we could possibly need, plus some lovely extras. The rooms were clean and the bed really comfortable .The owners Kate and Grant, were incredibly kind and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. I would absolutely love to return whenever possible. It was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend it!

Our principle contact was Jonathan who couldn’t have done more for us, a superb host who lives nearby. The property is well equipped throughout and located in a safe residential area just 200m from the estuary. We spent 24 wonderful days there. One point is that internal access to the upstairs is by a rather narrow spiral staircase which might not suit all ie elderly but for others ie children a point of excitement. I would have no hesitation in highly recommending both the property and hosts as a wonderful home to relax and unwind in. We’ve only found one other to match!

We have spent many holidays on Thesen Islands over the years, renting multiple homes on multiple islands. We have now found the perfect home for us. What you arrive to is so much better than any description or picture and exceeded all of our expectations without exception. It's a stunning North facing location with a wonderful view up the main canal. The home is very well appointed and most notably, for us and for my wife, spotlessley clean. Also very notably we were supplied with the small things that make a big difference and give you a sense of generosity by the hosts; toilet paper, dishwasher tabs, sponges, washing powder, hand soaps etc (you'll be shocked how many home stays don't supply the small things). We are so appreciative to Ilsebe for sharing her lovely home with us. 2026 is already booked. Can't wait! The Farrells

A stunning home in an ideal location. right on the water and walking distance to the fantastic local restaurants. The home is elegant and well equipped with space for a full family to enjoy the lagoon as well as pool area. The hosts were super friendly and went the extra mile. I highly recommend this home for your family vacation.

We stayed two nights and felt so rested and relaxed on the first day ! Amazingly peaceful and relaxing home. The pool was clean and a definite bonus. 10 out of 10 home to stay in. Morne is exceptional in managing this home and very friendly.

Beautiful home with great ammenities. We loved staying there. It was so peaceful with lots to do around us. If we didn't want to go out we could braai and swim and ride bikes which was lovely. Would definitely reccommend staying there.

This was a stunning place in a beautiful location. We could not have asked for better accommodation for our party of 9. The house is beautifully furnished, indoors and outdoors, and has breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean from a high vantage point. There was so much to do in the area that all our excursions were interesting and fun and if we opted to stay home and relax, we could take a stroll down to the beach, visit local restaurants or explore nearby hiking trails. Patricia and Ray were great hosts and made our stay easy and comfortable. Would definitely come back again to this special place!

We recently stayed at Maria’s lovely house and had a fantastic experience. The view was breathtaking, and the location was perfect—peaceful yet close to everything we needed. The house was incredibly well-equipped, making our stay super comfortable. We encountered a few minor challenges during our visit, but the owner handled them swiftly and professionally, ensuring everything was resolved quickly. Their responsiveness stood out and made a great impression. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and we’d happily return. I highly recommend this place!

It was lovely returning to Christa & Josephs home. Joseph is always up for a good conversation & willing to share tips & valuable insights. Our stay was a wonderful escape from the demands of everyday life. We had an incredible stay at Merak House! Lindie and Dawie were exceptional hosts – their communication was excellent, they were warm and welcoming, and even suggested some fantastic restaurants in the area. Merak House had everything we needed and more. It’s extremely well equipped, with top-quality appliances that made our stay even more comfortable. The location is perfect too with just a short walk to the beach. I highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back!

Absolutely 5 star accommodation and surroundings. Wendy and James (and the dogs) gave us a warm welcome and directed us to the best restaurants in Wilderness as well as recommendations for walking trails. Definitely top of our list for a return trip. Shame we couldn't have stayed longer. The view is spectacular overlooking Island lake and the sea. The private balcony is perfect for a morning coffee and spotting birds. Keep an eye out for the Knysna Turaco (Loerie). The pool is perfect for cooling off after a long hike.

Scenic and tranquil location, responsive and friendly host, beautifully decorated house providing a comfortable home for our weekend getaway. Lovely garden for daily walks down to the stream in the valley along a well maintained path. We experienced sunshine and rain and felt comfortable at all times. Nearby coffee shop serves delicious cheesecake.

Maria made us feel right at home. The place is incredible, and the furniture is equally impressive. We mostly followed the recommendations they gave us. The house is situated in a very safe area, just a 5-minute walk from a restaurant and a coffee shop. The beach is just a 10-minute walk away. It’s the perfect place to stay with a baby. We used the barbecue and beach chairs. Knysna is an ideal break on the Garden Route. We would have stayed longer if we could have!

My family had a great holiday. The house is immaculate, clean, comfortable and a home away from home. Leisure isle a great place for a family holiday and having a winter holiday in this house was an absolute pleasure, a cosy fire place and a well furnished house. We will hopefully come back again. What a cozy and clean apartment. What you see in the picture is exactly what you will experience. Mario’s place is situated in a quiet neighbourhood where you will enjoy beautiful Mountain View’s with nature literally at your door step. Great spot for some time away with family or friends with plenty of activities to do! Love it🤗

A wonderful, luxurious house in a safe and quiet location within easy access of the beach. The house is light and airy and very comfortable. We were a family of 6 with two children in our party. The house was well equipped and also included access to sit on kayaks. We loved our stay and found that the host communicated well with us, if we had any questions. We appreciated the welcome pack giving the telephone numbers of local taxi companies. We were extremely sad when our stay came to an end and we had to leave. Thank you for making our holiday so special.

Anna is a super host! The view is stunning and house is well situated. We loved it. Pity the main bedroom was not available.

From booking to checkout Doug and Carla were great hosts. Doug accommodated a late check-in, helped us register with security to access Thesen Island, and took us to the property for a walk-through. The home was spotless, incredibly spacious, and had every utility and modcon you need. A pleasant surprise was the addition of a pool between booking and arrival. The outside space and boat deck make for the ultimate Knysna vacation spent on the water. The restaurants and bars of Thesen Harbour Town are a 5 min walk. We will be back. Thank You!

Lovely property with everything that you need. I do think that there is some maintenance needed as it was not cheap to stay there.
