I use airbnb extensively for our business travels. Definitely within the top 3 of airbnb's we have stayed. Huge home with everything you need right on the river. Very upscale and amenities to match. Right on the river and great for evening walks, etc.

I cannot say enough positive things about Susan's place and Susan herself. Her location is a home away from home. I felt right at home the moment I walked in. Everything was neat, clean, organized and though there was everything you could want or need for your stay, the host would still check-in to be sure you had all you needed and all was good. The house is very pretty, inside and out. The neighborhood was quiet, and felt very safe. The host herself, Susan, is very caring and beyond hospitable, as well as easy and interesting to converse with. As it shows in the pictures, she does have two small dogs who are well behaved and adorable. I could not recommend this location enough, especially for the rate.

What a truly amazing experience! Our families came from opposite sides of the country to enjoy some amazing racing at Blackhawk Farms Raceway. We don’t get a chance to see each other that often so we wanted a place that we could gather together to relax and enjoy. We arrived from our two day journey from Montana to a beautiful evening and a wonderful sunset. Our friends from South Carolina were already there and the rest of our group followed shortly after. Once we took just a minute to see the house and walk the grounds we knew we picked the perfect spot!!!! Our first two evenings were spent enjoying the grounds, the house, the porch, the view and the beauty!! We hosted several families for dinner and the space was amazing for gathering, eating and fellowship. Tracy and Leif have made the space so user friendly and inviting that we really felt amazingly comfortable!! They have provided every detail you can imagine from s’more packages to basketballs to lots of wood for the fire ring to every local tip you could imagine!!! The combination of a lovely comfortable home and the quaint and beautiful grounds make for a truly wonderful experience. We left wanting out experience to last a few more days, so we knew it was special place. We would highly recommend this experience!!! Andy and crew

We had a large group traveling for sports. This was perfect for what we needed. plenty of room for us to spread out. Great host very responsive and helpful.

Dianna was so sweet and responsive. The Airbnb was clean and welcoming. It was the perfect location to be far enough out of the city to be quiet and private, but close enough for anything you want or need!

Great stay

We had a good stay as we were in town for a funeral. Lots of space for kids and extra family to stop by made it a perfect home. The lower level arcade games were not working, which was a bummer for the kids - but the foosball table came in clutch. The house is equipped with everything you’d need to make your own meals. Would recommend bottled water for coffee and drinking as the local water is a bit hard. Hot water is always available even after several showers! 🙌🏼 Will definitely return if we are in the area again!

This was the perfect spot for a gathering of lifelong friends. The house is spacious and warm (in subzero temperatures), and Dave provided us with ample wood for the cozy fire. The listing doesn't begin to capture the beauty and comfort of this home, which is bathed in sunlight, steeped in family history and offers a view of the peaceful surroundings from every room. Dave is a great host, clearly proud of his family homestead and familiar with what makes guests happy. I fully recommend a stay at the farmhouse in Shirland.
